Finding Our Way as a Community in These Times: The Possibility of Shared Outdoor Activities

It is remarkable what we’ve been able to create and sustain through technology, but screen time just doesn’t compare to a face-to-face experience. Some are now asking, might we have small outdoor gatherings conducted in compliance with the best and safest practices in these times? All that we currently know suggests that our answer can be . . . yes.

Familiarize Yourself with Zoom

Exploring In-Person Activities at the UUCC

Current and Past Services on the new UUCC Website

In the coming weeks, UUCC staff will continue highlighting portions of our refreshed website. We recently offered a tour of our new homepage. In this article, we will explore ways to access services on Sundays or at any time.

Our New Website: Check Out the Homepage!

You may have noticed that we recently launched our new website. This new site was designed to make it easier for visitors to find information about the congregation while also keeping our members up to date. Here's a quick tour of the homepage.

Finding Our Way as a Community in These Times: The Possibility of Shared Outdoor Activities

A Peek Behind the Sunday Service Curtain

In the middle of March, our building closed, and we had to find new ways to be “together.” Your staff wondered, “How do we continue to offer meaningful Sunday morning worship to our members and visitors?” Through trial and error, we landed on a process for creating a Sunday service that we have been using. How does it happen? And more importantly, how can you watch it?

UUCC Cares Fund Now Operational

We are most grateful for the generosity of our initial contributors. Several of you responded immediately and helped create a sufficient balance in the Fund so that we can now make it operational.

UUCC Response to the Pandemic

As we find our ways individually and collectively through these surreal times, we will continue to do all we can to be guided by our deepest shared values as we plan and program. This article contains more information about the recently announced UUCC CARES Fund and newly created Transitions Task Group.

Our Community in the Unknowable Days Ahead

What lies ahead for the UUCC? When might we be able to take the initial small steps away from our current situation?  When might those first small gatherings happen again in our building?  How many more weeks (or is it months?) before we can gather again for services in our sanctuary? Our new “Transitions Task Group” is offering guidance and insight as we face just these kinds of questions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our collective enterprise. As we prepare for the congregational year starting July 1, we invite UUCC members to review the available volunteer opportunities, including duties, time commitments and helpful attributes. Consider serving our community in one of these volunteer roles.
