Sunday, March 16 is our next Community Sunday, and the theme is Anticipation. We will gather together for a shortened service, followed by opportunities to connect and explore. Each month the Community Sundays will be inspired by the monthly ministry themes.
For March, the service will be focused on what it means to be waiting for things, and the anticipation of things to come. The activities will be focused on how we can learn from being in liminal space, using our bodies to take time from one movement to another, and how we might engage in relationships and covenant. We are offering 3 sessions:
In the Waiting Place (w/ Paula Gribble in the Sanctuary) – What’s it like to be in the place between here and there, the waiting place? How can we gain something and learn from these times? In today’s culture, we aren’t used to waiting. How can we help ground ourselves for the waiting we must do? Join us for a discussion exploring these ideas.
Play Tai Chi (w/ DD Hilke in Freeman Hall) – Come play Tai Chi with us. All ages welcome. Invite a butterfly onto onto your arm. Take a stroll on a sticky planet. Try “Cloud Hands,” a beautiful movement that gets easier when you understand its meaning. Hint: do you remember “wax on, wax off”?
Exploring Right Relations (w/ Right Relations Team in Bernstein) – How are we doing with courageous conversations and constructive, respectful conflict? Our UUCC Covenant of Right Relations, which was approved by the congregation in 2021, provides guidance for these challenges. Come explore with your Right Relations team how we can grow deeper into our spiritual relationships in our covenant with each other.
