Your intersectional justice team is delighted to announce that April’s Share the Plate recipient is UU the Vote. In the past couple of years, UU the Vote has been a meaningful partner in our work to support the democratic process in this country, as well as living our UU principles and values.
“Relationships are at the core of our organizing work and we’re excited to deepen our 2024 program with more opportunities for powerful collaboration. All change happens through collective work. Let’s harness our power to show up in force in 2024 and beyond.” UU the Vote is a non-partisan program of the Unitarian Universalist Association
Many UUCC members and friends wrote postcards with UU the vote in 2022. IJT partner group UU Justice Ministry of North Carolina works closely with UU the Vote along with local coalitions on issues including queer/trans healthcare access, reproductive justice, and more. Both North Carolina and Mecklenburg County are predicted to be pivotal in the upcoming election and UU the Vote is here to support UUCC – and Unitarian Universalists across the country – in getting our voices and values into the public square.

As Rev. Lisa Garcia-Sampson with UU Justice NC reminded us, “It is time to go deeper. For most of us, postcarding should only be the appetizer before the meal. This year our moral legacy is on the line. And if we can go further than postcarding, we have a moral responsibility to do so.”
