Alesia is our lead administrator and directs our administrative function. She serves as staff liaison to the Building and Grounds, Finance and Security Teams, to the Open Door School Managing Team and to the Board of the Memorial Endowment Trust. She is a member of the Coordinating Team.

Alesia is from Augusta, Georgia, and holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from Augusta State University and a M.S. in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland University College.

Belinda provides administrative support to the Lifespan Religious Education program and director. She oversees UUCC communications, including maintaining the website, updating the Currents newsletter, and serving as the staff liaison to the Communications Team. She also works on financial tasks including tracking contributions and deposits as well as accounts receivable.

Belinda lives in Mint Hill with her family. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UNC-Charlotte.

Christy Miller

In addition to acting as the receptionist, Christy provides administrative support to the staff and UUCC community, manages facilities usage and the UUCC calendar, and assists with communications, including the Order of Service and social media.

Christy has worked in the arts for over 12 years and graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a double major of BFA in Photography and BA in Art History. She worked as a professional portrait photographer and owned a small studio in Indian Trail where she earned multiple awards for her artistic portrait imagery.  In her free time, she enjoys expressing herself in multiple creative outlets including fiber arts, painting, music, video games, and photography. Christy and her husband Ryan have a daughter who is in elementary school.

John Herrick

John Herrick, our Director of Music, oversees all aspects of the music program, including staff management and selection of music and musicians for Sunday services and special musical events. He is responsible for the program’s vitality and growth and continuing relevance in our active UU faith community.

John has degrees from West Chester and Temple Universities in Pennsylvania, with additional studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. He was credentialed as a music leader by the Unitarian Universalist Association in the spring of 2011 and served as Board Treasurer for the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network from 2009 to 2010. In addition to his work at the UUCC, John is a collaborative pianist and piano teacher at the Charlotte Latin School. When not immersed in music, he can be found hiking, biking, gardening or just enjoying the great outdoors.

As Director of Member Relations, Kelly works with the Membership Team to help visitors feel welcomed and learn more about our congregation. She helps to guide prospective members through the joining process and assists current members in finding ways to use their talents and skills to make positive contributions to our congregation. Kelly also supports the Stewardship Team by communicating with members about the pledge process. Kelly is a member of Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism (BLUU), Diverse Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM), Liberal Religious Educators Association (LREDA) and currently serves on the board for Unitarian Universalist Association of Membership Professionals (UUAMP).

Paula Gribble
Director of Lifespan Religious Education

As Director of Lifespan Religious Education, Paula oversees all aspects of the religious education program for all ages. This includes faith development for children (up to grade 5), middle and high school youth (grade 6-grade 12), young adults (ages 18-35), and adults (age 35+).

Paula has worked as a religious professional in various areas (religious education, membership, and music) for over 15 years. She has been a UU for 25 years. In addition to her congregational work, Paula enjoys being connected to the wider UU denomination, and engaging in extensive generational study. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English, and also enjoys singing and acting. Paula and her husband Eric live in Charlotte and have 3 adult children.
