UUCC's memorial garden

Have you visited our Memorial Garden recently? This lovely spot was dedicated in 1997 on the Hardwick Road side of the 234 grounds. It includes brick pavers, flowering shrubs and other plantings, and benches for meditation and contemplation. Its purpose has been to provide a site for remembering and honoring loved ones with engraved memorial stones or plaques attached to a boulder.

The current charge for placing a memorial stone in the Garden is $545, while the plaque is $95.

The Congregational Care Team is wondering: Is there any interest in adding a columbarium? A columbarium is a structure with niches for holding cremains that would be incorporated into the Memorial Garden area.  A niche might cost in the range of $1200-$2000 and could hold up to 2 urns. A photo of a columbarium at St. Stephen United Methodist Church is attached to give you an idea of what one looks like. Before we pursue this option, the Congregational Care Team is collecting information about members’ interest in a columbarium. Click here to let us know
