Your UUCC Settled Minister Search Team is excited to announce that our search has been successful!
After nine months of work, with your help, we have found a minister we believe is an excellent candidate for our next settled minister. We made an offer on Thursday, March 28, and the candidate gave us an enthusiastic “YES.” We look forward to announcing the name… soon.
We know it’s been a long process, and no one wants to tell you more about the candidate than we do. But we’re still in the process of finalizing a contract and doing our due diligence. Under the agreement we made at the start of the search, we also have to wait for the candidate to announce it to their current congregation. All that should happen in the next week or two.
Most importantly, we are scheduling several opportunities for you to meet the minister during Candidating Week, April 28th through May 5. On that final Sunday, we will ask members to affirm our decision by issuing the official call… with a 90% favorable vote of those casting ballots in person, online, or by absentee ballot.
We CAN tell you our candidate has served a large UU congregation with heart-centered preaching and pastoral care, an extraordinary ability to inspire and empower congregants, and a demonstrated commitment to social justice.
