Meet to knit or crochet together as a spiritual community to create and bless shawls for KinderMourn, a non-profit organization that supports bereaved parents and siblings. KinderMourn gives the shawls to parents. We gather monthly to offer and bless the shawls we complete. In addition, Healing Threads’ shawls are given to Unitarian Universalist Community of Charlotte members who experience loss of a child or partner or a significant physical hardship. Need a pattern? Here is a simple starter pattern. Shawls should be 18-20″ wide and 58-60″ long.
If you are unable to join the group on the 2nd Monday, we still welcome your shawls! The group will bless them at the next gathering and make sure they are shared with KinderMourn or a UUCC member in need. Please contact Kathleen to let her know you have one available.
