Special Meeting of the Membership: Vote on Settled Minister Candidate

This Sunday, May 5 at 11:30 a.m., the UUCC Board of Trustees will conduct a Congregational Meeting during which members will have the opportunity to vote to call Reverend Amanda Weatherspoon as our full-time settled minister.

This meeting is the much-anticipated culmination of “Candidating Week” and the year-long search to call a settled minister. The Board encourages members to participate in Candidating Week to their fullest ability so that they can get to know Rev. Amanda and cast their ballot as a well-informed member.  More information about Rev. Amanda and the events of Candidating Week can be found here.

Pursuant to Article VIII, Section 2 of the UUCC Bylaws, “Calling a Minister shall require an affirmative vote of at least ninety (90) percent of the members voting in person, virtually, or absentee, by a confidential ballot, at a duly authorized meeting of the Membership.”

The meeting will be held in the sanctuary and streamed live. We encourage members to attend in-person if possible, as we believe decisions are best made in community. Voting will occur in-person and online through Zoom following the meeting discussion period.  The virtual voting process will be the same as our most recent vote: a link will be made available during the meeting that Zoom users can click to cast their ballot.
