Team Member Description: The team meets monthly for a two-hour meeting. Team members reflect on the experience of families during the past month of congregational life and more generally, give feedback on Family Ministry events, help plan and promote the annual retreat, help with set up and cleanup of monthly Family Night dinner and activity.
Time Commitment: one 2–hour meeting once a month; about 2-4 hours a month additional help with set up, clean up, special events.
Member Attributes: 1-2 people who have Unitarian Universalist Community of Charlotte leadership experience outside of Children and Youth Religious Education (could be parents); 1-2 parents; able to be grounded in times of change, organized, straight-forward, able to provide a critical lens, able to collaborate with youth team members.
Family Ministry Volunteer Opportunities:
- Help with the annual retreat (set up, registration, leading an activity, etc.)
- Help with monthly set up and clean up of Family Night (to lessen the load on team members)
- Facilitators for Parents’ Discovery Circles
- One-time leaders of appropriate activities/workshops for families
