Path to Membership

Community is an important part of Unitarian Universalism, and one way to participate in a community is through membership in a congregation. Membership helps you feel that you belong. Many of our members say joining this congregation offers them a sense of common purpose, as well as freedom to discover their own paths to deeper spiritual meaning.

The Unitarian Universalist Community of Charlotte also can provide you opportunities to serve others, work for environmental and social justice, grow spiritually and intellectually, and receive emotional support. We offer comfort in the tough times, and we share in your joys and celebrations.

What do we need in return?

  • We need your presence. By joining us in worship and at congregational events, you enrich us, broaden us, strengthen us and add to the joyful, dynamic community that we strive to be.
  • We need your ideas and energy. Consider all the possibilities for active involvement: volunteering, music, community involvement, stewardship, fellowship events, learning, teaching and much more. Join a group activity and find personal satisfaction and encouragement for your spiritual journey.
  • We need your financial resources to sustain the work of the UUCC. Our members’ financial support means we can maintain our facility, do more in the community, and make a difference in people’s spiritual lives.

Steps to becoming a member:

  • Attend services and other activities to start getting to know us.
  • Participate in Getting to Know Us, Meet a Minister, Discovering the UUCC or other visitor session to learn more.
  • Contact Kelly Greene, Director of Member Relations, to schedule a time when you can meet for about an hour. Together, you will talk about what membership could be like for you, how you can get involved, any questions you have, etc. Contact Kelly using our visitor information request form or see her most Sunday mornings at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Charlotte.
