Meet Amy Schofield, our new Open Door School Director

The UUCC, Managing Team, Parent Council, and staff extend a warm welcome to Amy Schofield, our new Open Door School Director!

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in journalism, she worked for 9 years at a trade association in Washington, DC. Subsequently, she returned to school and earned a master’s in early childhood education and taught elementary school for 8 years. Prior to being hired as the Executive Director of Palmetto Place Children’s Emergency Shelter, she was the Site Director at a child development center for homeless, needy, and children in crisis. Amy says, “I am looking forward to joining the ODS family and felt welcomed and right at home the minute I walked in the door!”
